Deepak and the Magic Eyeglasses

The title of this post sounds a bit like the title of a Harry Potter book – but instead of a sorcerer's stone, our hero possess sparkling magic eyeglasses. As the author of such spiritual books as The Way of the Wizard, I think Deepak Choprah has, on some alternative Universe sort of level, earned the right to wear magic eyeglasses. I attended a talk he gave at the Washington Cathedral last Wednesday with pals, Maya Angelou and Jim. (Not the famed poet Maya Angelou, but dear friend,Angela Ferri. Since I've two very close friends who go by "Angela", and both are artists and massage therapists, it became quickly evident I needed a way to differentiate between the two of them to friends and family. Since Angela Ferri specializes in a type of Mayan massage, it only made sense to refer to her as "Maya" Angela... which, of course, morphed into Maya Angelou... thanks to the clever suggestion of my friend, Mark over in Liverpool.)

Anywho... Deepak's talk was impressive – especially when viewed way up front from the third row! He's the only person I've heard speak about the pairing of science and eastern philosophy in a way that clearly communicates the basic concepts of quantum physics to the average person. The cathedral will post the lecture on live stream soon, and I'll post the link here when it does.

Wishing everyone a peaceful and present Monday.
