The weekend before last I took off for the Hudson Valley with my talented, funny and dear friend, Angela White, to help her hang her paintings in an art show near Woodstock. It was a whirlwind trip – we sped up on Friday morning and got back on Sunday afternoon. We had a great time staying with her friend, Annie – also a gifted painter – and the only downside to the trip being we didn't stay nearly long enough. It was my first trip "Artist and Buddha Heaven" as Annie so aptly put it.

Anyway, I'll post more pics as the days roll by. I shot the two images above just after we resumed course after getting lost for about 45 minutes. Route 17 simply never appeared, and we had to backtrack. We were so THRILLED when we finally saw the Thruway sign that I had to take a photograph. Not long after I took that shot, we stopped for gas, and you'll never believe this, but every gas station up there gives FULL SERVICE. I felt like I was back in the 1970's or something as we sat and talked while the gas station attendant did all the work for us.

Needless to say, the trip was a nice respite from all the craziness of the world!
