Jack can often be found preaching in the woods around here in the spring and summertime. It's always good news, full of hope, beauty and the enduring presence of love available to all at any given moment. All you need to do is venture into the woods and simply listen.
This jack in the pulpit belongs to my dear friend, Angela Ferri. A talented herbalist and massage therapist, she recently transplanted herself out to the country outside of the city. Not only did she uproot herself – most of her garden tagged along with her! I shot this Jack just before he was tenderly uprooted and prepared for a new life in Jefferson, Maryland.

I've always loved the Jack in the Pulpit. I don't think they live where I now live. When I was in the heart of the city, they were in the yard of my rental house. Nice picture.

Wow! I love this. I heard these are very rare and difficult to cultivate and that they seem to really florish in stormy weather. Is this true?
