Doubly Blessed ~ Canon 30d

The last week and half brought me two wonderful blessings, the most important of which is finding out my mother is coming home from the hospital today after experiencing a mild stroke which triggered a hefty migraine. Luckily, she was at the hospital for her 2 week check-up following foot surgery when it happened, so all they had to do was wheel her over to the emergency room on the other side of the building. Lucky, lucky, lucky for everyone who knows and loves her, the clot dissolved on its own before it could be found by the MRI, so no further treatment will be necessary, aside from daily aspirin. The doctor said it could be the foot surgery caused a clot to be thrown, which significantly disrupted her speech for a half hour. I can't begin to express how relieved I am, and for the prayers and metta sent on behalf of my meditation group. Thank you.

I was doubly blessed with the meditation retreat I attended last week, during which I experienced one of the most memorable moments of my life – savoring the most amazing flourless chocolate cake while sitting on a bench watching the sun brilliantly sparkling through a gentle rain... bloop! bloop! bloop! went the raindrops in my teacup sitting next to me, punctuating my "Eating Chocolate Cake While Holding Hands with Sun & the Rain Meditation". If I were god, I would grant every being on the planet the joy of experiencing such rapture. Even though the meditation lasted a fleeting five minutes, it's as though the camera in my heart will store the impression forever. To come home and have the sun and rain perform a curtain call in the field behind my house, punctuated by a miraculous double rainbow? Priceless.

Miracles are everywhere, trust their emergence.

Fabulous rainbow photo.

Wonderful news about your mother.

Tonight, had a bowl of cherries so deep red and flavorful that each one told a story. Of the sun, the rain, the warm summer evening.

So, a bowl of cherries can be life?
