Purple Flowers Along the Roadside

March 15, 2008

A monk was once asked, "Why do you meditate?" and he answered, "So I remember to notice the purple flowers along the roadside."

Photographing and meditating ~ is there any difference, I ask?

No difference at all, especially when you are talented enough to produce meditative images like these. So very beautiful and peaceful...

Is there any difference? I think not!

Beautiful work here. That orange against the purple...wow!

I love that you can see the 'sugar' on the petals, and that the yellowy-orange centers are more like orchids than mere stamens/anthers. Glorious shot.

Lovely, as ever.

If I take the toll road to or from work, lately, I see some sort of purple flower along the roadside. I can't stop to take photos (for fear of getting ticketed) but I do notice. And it makes me happy.
