I celebrated my birthday with a gaggle of friends Saturday night. We descended on Mem Sahib, a funky Indian restaurant bedecked with numerous monitors playing non-stop Bollywood music videos and a dance floor for wild Indian/disco/belly dancing. The fun never seems to stop on Saturday nights when they top it off with a live belly dance performance. The lovely goddess above was our dancer for the evening, and she gave an incredibly good performance. (My friend, Phil, was seduced out onto the dance floor with her just before this image was taken. Please, Phil... can I post the images of your debut performance?)

Fabulously fun! Notice the dude on the dance floor in the background? His face is blue and he has light shooting out of his head... which is a good visual representation of how it felt to dance Bollywood style for the first time. (Phil, me, Barb and Angela)

Nancy and Angela!

Bob, Siobhan, Barb, and the very cool Gregg clan behind them.

Birthday girl comparing apples and oranges for the camera. It was over-the-top whimsical fun, and my only regret is being so absorbed by the naan and punjab curry that I didn't get to spend quality time with everyone.
