A week and a half ago I was invited for a weekend getaway at the cabin of Gabby's beau in Deep Creek, Maryland. (Gabby and I share hiking, banjo lessons and meditation practice in common. I have NO IDEA what I'd do without her!) The promise of lots of snow and an outdoor hot tub lured me away from my pressing deadlines ~ a decision I am very happy I made... no time off for me for the next couple of weeks. I really needed the play time. I named my friend Shayne PILOT of the MINI Cooper, and we ventured out to the local coffee shop followed by scouting the area for landscape images. I had so much fun, the best of which was proving my Scandinavian heritage once and for all by hopping out of the hot tub to roll in the snow, not once but THREE TIMES! (Did I mention there was Dewars whiskey involved?) What a thrilling experience! I highly recommend trying it at least once in a lifetime, if not more!

Sorry... no pictures, but I have 3 witnesses.

While driving past the scene above I was struck by its minimalism ~ the tiny lone tree surrounded by an almost indistinguishable earth and sky. I've felt just like this picture many times, but there is beauty to be found during the lonely segments on Life's path, don't you think? It might feel as though no one is there, but the earth and sky... the Universe... is always there, connected to you.

Sounds like a wonderful time! Love the image and the quote. So, your ankle is recovered? Must have been the Dewars...err... hot tub? ;c)

Ohhh I just love that shot!!!!! It says PEACE to me even though there are churning clouds aboe the earth is so serene. Speaks that no matter what we can handle the situation. I feel God present in that photo.

I live in Oklahoma where there is lots of wide open (empty)space. It speaks to me.
