Focused

Bloch Angles ~ Canon 30d

Last week I posted this same image thrown completely out of focus, and today I thought it would be interesting to show you a tack-sharp version.

As I've watched the world stock markets take a dive this morning, I can't help but think it's because the state of our country is finally coming into focus. Collectively, we spend more than we save. A lot more. And the greedy seeds that were planted will reap a harvest that won't be pretty.

It would nice to see some actual leadership at this point. Instead of slashing interest rates, which will surely devalue the dollar even further, I'd much rather see the president get on camera and, like a true leader, tell the truth instead of saying what we all want to hear. We can't sustain a healthy society on debt and correcting the problem will be painful. An economy which is reliant upon consuming more and more "stuff" can not and will not sustain itself for eternity. The earth has its limits. Housing prices could not continue to soar higher than the average consumer's salaries could afford. Greed and deceit of this magnitude can remain hidden for only so long, and the world just might be wiping the sleep out its eyes and taking a long hard look at reality. Call me a doom and gloomer if you wish, but I think we're overdue for a tack-sharp reality check. The party is over.

It won't be pretty, and it won't be easy. We need to tighten our belts and correct the imbalances within our system. Together we can do it. Our leaders won't say it, but maybe we should.

Amen and welcome aboard! No it won't be pretty but it is something that needs to happen in order for us survive in the long run!
