The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.
You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.
People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds touch.
The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.
~ Rumi
I took a really nice hike today with a friend who understands nature better than the average bear. Among the many things we discussed, the healing presence in nature was the most nourishing.
Touching nature is like touching Spirit to me. The immense beauty ~ the solitude, the peacefulness ~ create huge allowances for the heart to come back to a healthy rhythm. The hurry scurry mice running through my mind stop dead in their tracks, dumbfounded by the overwhelming sense that all is well, and all is as it should be. With each breath in, I accept the goodness surrounding me, and with each breath out, a prayer for wholeness is murmuring... Be good. Be Free. Remember your beauty. Ask for what you want. Stand with one foot grounded in the earth, the other, just beyond where the two worlds meet.
Don't go back to sleep.

It's so easy to sleep through it, isn't it? We have to keep our eyes open to really "see." Beautiful image Susan.

I like the poem. I think of how often I fall back to sleep in the trance of the world. The picture reminds me of times I was out at sea and it is so cool to think about where the sea and sky meet. Now, I'm on a different sea, a different ocean. It's an ocean for the soul and I navigate this life on a sea of feelings and perseptions and mental formations. It is blessed to wake up to this moment just as it is.

The rhythm of the ocean, walking through a forest, listening to birds chirp and caw, marveling at the beauty of trees, gasping at the color of the sky and formations of clouds............. all heal my soul and bring order to chaos in my mind. Nature calms, nature nourishes, close to nature is where we belong. But, yes, it is so easy to close the door and sleep inside forgetting nature is out there beckoning to us to share her treasures. Like everything else the choice is ours. Your photo is awesome.

A beautiful poem...
when we are still and let our hearts and souls listen to nature it does bring balance - I know what you mean about touching Spirit

Nature is my 'temple', my holy place...particularly where water meets the sky.
