Most of us have a bit of barbed wire protecting our hearts ~ the beauty can shine through nonetheless!
Shot in July just outside Madison, Virginia.

All your photos are lovely, but occasionally one just really strikes me. I love the contrast between the rusted wire (rope?) and the Queen Anne's Lace - really beautiful.

Love this.

This is a beautiful photograph. I used to see rusty fences with plants and wildflowers poking through all the time growing up, and this reminds me of them, though this could be rope as well. Doesn't really matter, as Cathy says above, the constrast makes this photo. Glad I had a chance to checked your blog this weekend. Alas, I don't have a blog of my own at the moment.

So beautiful...I'm wondering, do you use a tripod? If not, you must have a very steady hand!

And sometimes, when we are pricked by the barbed wire, it is difficult to see anything else. As a matter of fact, the whole world disappears and nothing else exists except the barbed wire and the pain. And when we can look deeply into the pain and see it as it is, then everything comes into focus again and we find liberation and peace. And the peace that comes after is greater than the peace that was before, because there has been transformation and with transformation comes understanding and with understanding comes a stretching of the heart and from the heart, the eyes see averything totally and everything is alive and all the vibrations flow in deep harmony. And to think, all this started from the practice of just noticing the breath in mindfulness.

this is such an appropriate post/picture for me. i spent labor day weekend at my dad's ranch and as i walked around taking photographs i seemed to be drawn to the places where flowers, greenery, berries, etc were growing around the barbed wire...and i was also drawn to the barbed wire itself. i guess that speaks of how i'm feeling about life right now...feeling fenced in and pained by some things happening but also knowing there is hope and life and possibility...

The contrast! The rusty iron and the lattice of lace. Courage and grace. Your eye speaks of a sensitive heart. I admire your work.
