I'll never look at a black-eyed Susan in quite the same way now that I've made the connection between Sam's nose and its purply-black center. I wonder if the flower smells sweeter if your nose bears a striking resemblance to it.
The top image was shot during my restful weekend with Joan who, as far as I can tell, is a master gardener. Her flower beds happily groan under the weight of colorful cone flowers, zappy zinias and a spectacular array of, you guessed it, Black-Nosed Susans!
More images from the weekend to come... and some very exciting news as well! So please stay tuned!

Why would one not grow black-nosed susans when one's dog has a nose just like the susans do?????

That is amazing. I love that you noticed that. I have black-nosed Susans in my garden too. I'll never see them the same again!

How clever Susan. And I planted mine as your namesake. Little did I know I was planting black noses as well as perky Susans.
