Labyrinth Walk ~ Canon 30d

Nature is a labyrinth in which the very haste you move with will make you lose your way.
~ Francis Bacon, Sr.

slow down
just take one step

just breathe
then take another

don't think ahead
just take one step
the winding road unwinds you

curving pathway hooks
you round
your feet, they stand on
holy ground

don't think ahead
just take this step
move toward the one who finds you

take the pebble from your shoe
and set it by the road
pant cuffs sifting grains of sand
a trail of woes behind you

leave dust behind
don't turn to stare
the wind has blown away

don't look behind
but plant each foot
one before the other

along the long uncertain path
some will brush against you
an older man with bruises banded
round his heart will find you

the cusp of inward outward breath
where universe stands still
drown your sorrows in this space
move toward the one who sees you

take one step while standing still
she moves you through her stillness

take one breath and die one death
inside this pause will save you

one step
one breath
between the step

one breath
one step
between the breath

somewhere between the foot and floor
eternity will find you

~ SJP

Oh my God...awesome words. there's such a lilt to it, and

"don't think ahead
just take this step
move toward the one who finds you"

is too too wonderful and profound.

I don't say it often enough... thanks for sharing:)

Hi Susan.

I spent the most part of yesterday browsing your blog, writing down some awesome quotes and swimming in this river of wonderful words (and with dictionary.com as the assistant teacher), sentences and paragraphs. I felt like a child that found a $200 bill.

All I can say is WOW. Your works are a gold mine (make that platinum and tanzanite) and thank you for so willing sharing it with us. You are an inspiration!
