Yippee! Yahoo! It finally snowed AND I got some wonderful shots of the Cathedral which will one day appear in our line of greeting cards in the gift shop there.
It's been weeks and weeks since I've seriously shot anything of substance. When such a long period of time goes by without getting outside and shooting, I begin to feel like something substantial is missing. My camera, I'm finding, is sort of like an anti-depressant, and heading out to take pictures on a regular basis ~ a prescription for mental and spiritual health for me. If fresh air and outdoor walking is the medicine, then my camera is the mode of delivery. I can't begin to report how wonderful it was to finally get some decent snow shots of the cathedral. Winter storms have become somewhat of an anomoly here in DC, and I've been waiting all winter for an opportunity like this.
Will post more over the coming days.

i know that feeling of missing the "drug" which, for me, is writing. nice release.
wait a minute, i thought your photo last time, was "of substance" but i know what you mean. i guess it was more an introspective piece.

I agree with the therapeutic nature of getting outdoors with a camera. For me, I think it has to do with its power to put my focus onto other things; whatever has been going around in my head just settles to the bottom like snow in a snow globe while my camera takes me on a treasure hunt.
These are beautiful photos of the cathedral and will be wonderful additions to round out its personality from season to season.

A walk in the woods or a walk in the snow or a walk on the beach. You always manage to find the most interesting things on your walks.

Oh, I so agree... the long winter has left nothing much to photograph that I haven't done already a 100 times. I am so looking forward to spring and new pictures.
