I'll Call Her George

Hug Me ~ Canon 30d

"What a cute little bunny rabbit.
I'm gonna love her and squeeze her and call her George."
~ Abominable Snowman of Bugs Bunny Fame

Steinbeck and Looney Tunes references aside, I just have to confess, Olympus... err.. "George" is looking more and more like a rabbit to me... especially in this picture which I shot just this morning. Between the preliminary launch of Banjo Bunny E-cards and watching Wallace & Grommit's Curse of the Were-Rabbit last night, I've an extreme case of Bunny Brain, and a distinct yearning for gorgonzola cheese... I'm just crackers about cheeeeese, Grommit!

You might remember Olympus used to be the biggest scardey cat the world has ever known, taking up permanent residence in the hallway closet. But since her mother passed away close to a year ago, Oly continues to blossom into a really cool cat, becoming more at ease in her own fur as each month ticks by.

She's a stunning cat, with tabby markings so ingrained into her fur at times they look almost 3 dimensional. Those rings wrapped 'round her neck I imagine are necklaces, and what of those tiny feet? I refer to her as my tiny dancer ~ a hold over from my Elton John days.

Georgie Girl, Oly Girl, Olympus, Oleander... a cat by any other name would still be just as independently sweet and curious.

She is a beauty and at times I wish I still had her to pamper but you are doing a fantastic job of making her happy. You captured the lovely, special, enjoyable cat that she is.

I'm on vacation and miss my little creatures, so thanks for posting a photo of your sweet feline. I have two tabbies. One is orange and white, and the other has similar marking as Oly.

I am not a cat person, but I have to agree - she looks to be a really cool cat. We have two new kittens in the house (seriously, I'm not a cat person) and are currently debating on whether or not to keep them. As of today, they have aquired names, and I think I might be sunk in any attempt to get them new homes...but in the hopes they might be cool like Olympus, I might be persuaded...

Maybe you should adopt Echo and see if she blossoms in your care;) I love her but she seriously is the most AWFUL cat. I'm nursing a new set of fairly deep scratches given after she decided she'd had enough love, thank you, never mind that SHE was the one who jumped up in MY lap.

Oy.
