Believe it or not, I shot these poppies in a ditch on the side of interstate I-95 during heavy traffic on Memorial Day weekend. Tractor trailers roared by honking their horns just a couple of yards from my car, with an occasional redneck hanging out the window, gawking and howling at me. Fortunately, when under the spell of beautiful poppies ~ howling rednecks have absolutely no effect on me.
I think maybe the world needs more poppies ~ how 'bout you?

I totally agree. I adore poppies. And this photo is beautiful, as always.

Whenever I see a poppy I think of you, Susan. I love them as well and enjoyed my one bloom on my new plant. I hope it seeds itself over and over. Great photo and I can picture you taking the shot.
