Petal Chasm ~ Canon 30d

A bit of advice given to a young Native American at the time of his initiation:

As you go the way of life,
you will see a great chasm.

Jump.

It is not as wide as you think.

~ Joseph Campbell

Imagine ~ if everyone understood our insurmountable challenges? They're measured by the tiniest of distances between two petals. The precipice between where we are right now, and where we want to be? It's navigable. If even just a few of us could be less afraid of becoming who we are truly meant to be. If we weren't so damn timid with our inner power. All the goods are there. Inside us. Now.

Drink in the beauty. Pay attention. Your spirit is the only lens that allows true seeing with this camera. The world is spinning out of control as we idly sit by and wish and hope things could be better. Fix the lens ~ focus the ring ~ you must press the shutter, take the picture, jump the chasm ~ to make a better world happen.

This is stunning. The image to the words is simply stunning. Perfectly put, the distance between the rose petals...wow! A leap of faith starts everytime we lean back...move forward instead...

Beautiful.... yes, the chasm never is as wide as we think it is. Thanks for such a perfect image.

Yes, it's just a flower. Look again with the heart, maybe it will speak to you and you will see something more.

I see the mystery of the unknown before us, the tomorrows that make us laugh or make us cry, or just confuse us. We just trudge along trusting in angels around us and believing that we will survive for there is beauty in every day.
