I often say we've got a budget deficit, that's important. We've got a trade deficit, that's critical. But what I worry about the most is our empathy deficit.
~ Barack Obama
Having just purchased a fancy new wide angle lens, Rob has been on a tear... shooting everything from the new see-all point of view that an ultra-wide-angle lens affords. The man loves his coffee. It's no surprise he would end up shooting what he loves the most!
There's a romance, I think, to shooting with a lens that allows one to see the world in a way that the mind can't easily imagine. As I intentionally pace down a new path of meditation this month, I find my view of the world and life expanding, and my heart feels as though it is expanding along with the passing scenery.
See the world in a different way. Widen your view. Open your heart.

That's the best photo of coffee ever. Almost makes me want to drink coffee. Almost.
Now I am off to start my day, with the twin goals of widening my view and opening my heart.

beautiful words. i was struck by the eyes of the woman on your header--she reminds me so much of a portrait i've seen of the poet edna st. vincent millay.

You are my inspiration. I was just thinking that I need a new perspective, and there you go and tell me I was right. Look with a new lens. Sounds like a winner.

That's almost pornographic for those of us who live for our morning coffee...hehe. Makes my mouth water and taste buds sing just looking at it. Lord help me.

It seems as if my worldview has been widening a lot lately.. my thinking being stretched by the words of fellow bloggers.
It's not always an easy process but worthwhile.
Thanks for your words. (and your beautiful pictures)

Hee... I find this entry is both inspiring and somewhat pornographic. This warms the cockles of my little heart, really... it does.

Pornographic? Nothing so lowbrow. I prefer caffeine erotica!

~ I love Barak Obama too! He is so real, and speaks the truth fluently.
~ That is one heckuva gorgeous coffee photo! Maybe I like it 'cause it looks like chocolate.
~ Oh no, your mention of meditation reminds me that you asked me about meditation techniques ages ago, and I never got around to responding! So sorry!!!
