m o o d s w i n g.
(yes, it's one word, a singular entitity)
feeling less than I was a number of days ago. older. reflective. meditative. it's not depression, per se ~ rather, it's a feeling of sadness over where i'd like myself to be and realizing this elusive place is where i'm not.
sort of like spring this go around
warm earth with tender new sprouts
and then ~ the cold snap
neither here nor there ~ a blurred vista
tell me ~ which way, again is the wind blowing?
no it's not depression it's subtle minimizing and...
shrinking
( like ocean waves receding )
i sit
i ponder
(•••• waiting ••••)
for the next wave to roll in

Waiting is not all it's cracked up to be (basically it can suck) and yet it's not a total loss either - there are many things to be learned and gleaned from waiting. Sometimes God just wants to know if we're willing to wait. Maybe it's a "whose in control here?" kinda situation.

Nicely said, Susan...

We all feel like this especially in the Spring. Some call it Spring Fever and others Spring melencoly. Everything around you is blooming and sprouting and growing and we look around and see that things are just the same in our abode and life. Accept. Dream. Wonder. Work. Pray. Meditate. Buy flowers.

It's part of life, afflicting us all at times. One key is to look back and really deeply appreciate all your various accomplishments, including: being a kind person, having a good sense of humor, being an accomplished photographer, having such an amazing artistic sense, etc. I like what Janet said, above.
By the way, check out this guy's blog. He has a photo from inside a Czech church that should interest you! http://backstreetsofheaven.blogspot.com/

ahhh, nice responses to my melancholy post ~ i like janet's suggestion too. She always has good ideas, 'cuz she's my mother. I bought myself some really lovely tulips this weekend, and they've brightened both my living room and my heart.

Ah, mom... I see now where you find your philosphical bent...

It's OK. We'll wait with you.
