Last month, I posted an entry about a splinter in the bottom of my foot. This is the last of three pieces that have been tweezed out of my sore little paw. I'm guessing the full splinter was at least an inch long and really, it's miraculous I never got an infection. The damn thing was in my body for over THREE WEEKS.
First, I pulled out a quarter-inch-long chunk. Ten days later, the urgent card doctor pulled out another piece, confident she had gotten it all. A few days later, I was pretty sure there was more foreign matter to be pulled out of it, but just couldn't bring myself to the doctor again. Someone told me it would eventually work its way out ~ which it finally did, with a bit of tweezering this morning.
Let me tell you, when you pull a chunk of wood that has been in your foot for 3 weeks, there just ain't a feelin' like it in the world. I feel deeply relieved and amazed my body was able to coax the sucker out.

That's past amazing!
...and that's no splinter; it's a whole branch!

I heard that night the lion roar
Her painful splinter, could take no more
Bellows echoed throughout the house
My kingdom, my kingdom, for just one mouse

You SAID it was still in your foot. Cannot believe how long it is! I am so relieved the ordeal is over for you. SOAK your foot until it is totally healed from the inside out.

3 pieces - were they all that long?? yikes! no more barefoot in the grass (or on the boards) for you! find yourself a wonderful pair of lovely warm slippers and nest those feet in them - they deserve it after enduring that!
