Evening Snow Meditation

December 05, 2005

The first snow of the season is blanketing the nation's capitol as I write this. Nothing could keep me from venturing out around the neighborhood this evening with my little digital camera in tow. Most of these shots were hand-held with exposures at about 2 seconds. Between the subtle hand movement, and the snowflake blur, I got some moody and interesting images.

Self-portrait ~ I'm standing in front of a dense thicket of bamboo trees. It's the only image I didn't hand-hold.

Shot just as a snow truck entered the frame and spewed salt all over the bottom half of my body. Errr... that was the un-fun part. I figure if my camera can take being semi-immersed in Carribean salt water, it can take this too.

I love these photos ... Friend sent your URL tonight and the timing is perfect. We're set to get some snow here in the Mile High City. Will these be available for purchase anytime soon?

That snow truck shot alone is worth it!

The one showing the bottom half of the picnic table is pretty creepy. I feel like I'm in a park late at night. . . But I'm not alone- evil company is behind me. very very creepy. . .

Windy,

I totally agree with your assessment of the picnic table. It's spooky, creepy, and sends chills up my spine... which is why i like it so much!

the colors in your self-portrait makes it look like a photo from the 60s! very cool.

The snow truck street scene looks like something out of National Geographic. Marvelous.
