The apple you see above was the most scrumpdillleeeicious apple ever eaten ~ even better than EVE's, I tell you! This orchard was somewhere between Rumford and Bangor, Maine, and was one of the smartest stops we made on the whole trip. Unbelievably crisp. Bright red. The perfect SNAP! and CRUNCH! sound as our teeth sunk into the snowy white flesh. These apples were SO GOOD I would have traded every potato chip and chocolate chip cookie in the world just to have a bushel of them.

apples right off the tree are God's way of showing us exactly why the whole issue of temptation came up in the first place...
we went apple-picking three years ago in upstate NY. i tasted more varieties than i even knew existed and honestly, it was like being at a wine tasting; each was more amazing than the next.
i am having apple envy.

What a story teller you are! I agree, between your image and your discription I wanted to fly to that roadside stand and just dig in. And I know just the kind of apple you are talking about.
