Keep your eyes to the sunshine
and you cannot see the shadows
~ Helen Keller
We were driving over a a bridge near Rumford, Maine when I saw this stunning sunset reflection in the river water. A line of trees dotted the shore which were silhouetted perfectly by the sinking sun. It was breathtaking.
I said, "Oooo Rob, did you just see that!?"
"You see a SHOT back there???" You can always pique Rob's interest if he thinks you've seen a card image pass by. Sometimes, he just slams on the brakes and yells "SQUIRREL!" but there was a fair amount of evening traffic at the time, so he opted for ducking into a motor inn parking lot.
"Yeah, there's TOTALLY a shot back there! Hurry UP! The sun's going down... let's get back there!"
The only thing was the bridge a two lane and very narrow with very low railings. I decided to hop out of the Subaru to grab some shots while Rob drove to the other side and doubled back around.
Have you ever stood on a small bridge without a decent railing while trucks and SUV's are driving by at 55mph? The entire bridge shimmied all over the place every time a good-sized vehicle drove by ~ to the point I thought I might fall over and be lost in the river. It was SCARY!
Well, not scary enough to keep me from taking about 10 shots. Most of them were blurry due to the SHAKING bridge and the lack of light, but somehow, this one was sharp! Hooray!
Here's a blurry one ~ probably shot just around the time I thought I might fall in.

I like the shakey one, too. It has a different effect that's kinda fun.

Besides the breathtaking vision of inverted trees based with orange accented with the blue sky and the white clouds I am captivated by the texture of the water. Awesome
