On the trip back down through Maine, we passed by a small turkey farm.
"We HAVE to turn around!" I exclaimed.
"Why? Turkey Farms smell bad, AND... they don't make good greeting cards."
"Blogg Fodder!!!"
After slamming on the brakes and making a u-turn in dangerous fog, we were inhaling the sweet fragrant smell of FOUL. Eu de Toilette of Turkey... it's spooky we eat something that smells this bad!
Let us pause for a moment of grateful silence ~ the gobbly souls pictured above surely are no longer with us.
{ I rather like the movement in the 2nd shot... turkeys can be poetry in motion }

after we were married liam and i rented a farm house and the neighbor across the road had 2 'free range' turkeys. they were constantly in our yard driving out dog crazy and scaring the crap out of me. the male was the size of a volkswagon and such a mean bird. it's amazing i didn't hit him with the car 'by accident' just to rid myself of his abuse! i hated those birds.

I went to university in Arkansas and there were turkey farms every few miles. Whew, those things STANK! I think they're worse than pig farms, or even cattle yards in Western Kansas. Yech!

My brother-in-law had a Turkey farm. I worked on it for two summers when I was twelve and thirteen.
Turkeys are DUMB birds!!
Don't know enough to come in out of the rain.
Won't even scatter when attacked by foxes.
Dumb birds!
