18 Things to Do While Waiting in Line to See
Harry Potter

My friend Andrea, (Harry Potter Wiz) waited three hours in line at the Uptown Theatre in DC to see the new Harry Potter movie last week ~ I got a kick out the email she sent me this morning ~

So if you're going to show up for the midnight show of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire three hours early you have to have something to do.

  1. Heckle others for wearing costumes and singing Hogwarts songs.

  2. After chastizing others, pull out your own cape and pretend it's an invisibility cloak. Run around doing crazy things and making faces at others in line and passersby all the while yelling "You can't see me becasue I'm in an invisibility cloak!"

  3. Order pizza to be delivered to the location "in line waiting for Harry Potter. We're the ones in invisibility cloaks."

  4. Practice English accent.

  5. Swoosh around in cloak pretending nto be Volde..He Who Must Not Be Named.

  6. Stage wizard's duel.

  7. Play Wizard's Chess using others in line as chessmen without their knowledge or consent.

  8. Dart about snatching at the air and tell people you're practicing for Quidditch tryouts-you're trying for Seeker.

  9. Swish and flick your hand in the air declaring "Wingardium Leviosa"

  10. "Accio Starbucks!"

  11. And when Starbucks has closed: "Alohamora!"

  12. Giggle about being 26 and standing in a line in the freezing cold for the midnight premiere of Harry Potter; and take comfort in the facft that you weren't one of the freaks who started queuing at 6.

  13. Swoon over freak wearing Quidditch robes (and jealously wonder where she got them).

  14. Wonder if Londoner's were this weird too.

  15. Rub hands in glee: Ron, Harry, and Malfoy are finally legal!

  16. Bring HP books and reenact scenes while in line.

  17. Heckle pre-teens on cells arranging pick-up times with their parents.

  18. Start slapping yourself and others around you while yelling "Fresh Cornish pixies!"

You can only be cool if you wait 3 hours in line for the HP movies like we do! Wingardium Leviosa!
