I shot this image somewhere along Route 2 driving from northern New Hampshire to Maine a couple weeks ago. Rob and I made so many stops to take pictures, I can't pinpoint precisely where this was ~ probably New Hampshire. We found a lovely pasture where about 5 horses were grazing in the late morning light. While Rob went about photographing the horses, I put the camera into macro mode and began my search for god in the details.
After wading through waist-high brush to get close to the fence at the edge of the pasture, I found these dainty leaves poking through the wires. The color was both delicate and explosive at the same time, and I loved the way the tender green was still hanging on in the presence of the soft yellow and brilliant orange.
I'm excited.
I'm excited, and not just because I'm happy with the image above ~ I'm jazzed because Rob and I are offering this as one of his Enlightenment Greeting Cards free to my blog readers. Forever is Free! All you have to do is buy any other product from his site, and add this card using the "make this my free card" button on this page. If you purchase 4 cards at the regular price, we already send a card of your choice free, so if you're a visual-voice reader and buy 4 cards, you'll get two cards for free (the card above, and any other card of your choice).
Joseph Campbell said, "Follow your bliss and doors will open where there were no doors before." I like this, and it reminds me of another quote ~ "Knock and the door will be opened, seek and ye shall find." I never thought I'd be shooting pictures again, and it's wonderful that my images are being used in a positive and uplifting way.
Some info on the cards ::
Rob and I have been working very hard on expanding his line of elegant, ready to frame greeting cards for his company, Frameable Images. It's difficult to explain how beautiful they are until you see one, but in my biased opinion, they are simply gorgeous. Each hand-made card is matted with gallery matt board, so the recipient can take your card and place it into a standard 5x7 frame. I've given them to several friends and relatives, and each one of them has gasped an authentic gasp upon opening the envelope. Words like "Wow!" and "Where did you get this?" seem to pop out of their mouths. It makes me smile really big when that happens. Truly, they are more than just cards, they are gifts.
I just added a new line to the site called "Enlightenment Cards". Basically, I'm taking my penchant for matching a beautiful image with a really good quote and applying it here. It's kind of like sending an entry from this website to a friend, who can then frame it, and hang it on a wall.
I hope you find them to be as magical and captivating as I have, and enjoy them as much we have enjoyed creating them!
