I am so bored. Bored beyond belief. The kind of boredom that turns your brain to mush. I'm in the middle of jury duty. ugh. Jury waiting is more like it. It may be hard to believe, but I'm 40, and this is the first time I've been called, so I really shouldn't complain. Actually, I'm not complaining, I'm just stating the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth ~ So help me God, I'm BORED TO TEARS!
I typed those words on my laptop at around 1:30pm. My number came up in only one of four pools for a criminal case, but they filled the 14 slots before they got to me. I think one bored person on this blog is more than enough... so I'll spare ya the details.

The top floor of the DC Courthouse where the Juror's Lounge & some of the courtrooms are located.

Waiting. This may be what purgatory is like.

I know exactly what you're going through. I've sat at the Daley Center in downtown Chicago, for hours and endless hours, waiting for something to happen. ;) I didn't get called and got to go home at the end of the day, having fulfilled my civic duty. But what a looooong day.

Yeah, it's quasi~torture. Wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't felt sick to my stomach for half the day... most unpleasant.

Hey, your jury duty chairs are more comfortable than the ones in Colorado Springs. I've had jury duty 3 times - never actually served on a jury - and our plastic folding chairs are full-on-torture. At least I usually get a whole lot of reading done.
Glad you survived. That photo of the roof is worth the trip (in my opinion, probably not yours!)

The chairs WERE comfortable. Although, for half the day there were twice as many people as chairs, so I leaned against a wall or sat out in the hall.
Ahh.. well, yeah, perhaps the photo of the roof was worth the trip... NOT!

yeah...that probably IS what purgatory is like...only hotter. Everything is worse when it's hot!

I was called five times in Va and served on three cases. I crochet most of an afgan each time I sat and waited, and waited, and waited. We had access to coffee and soft drinks. And the chairs were terrible. It must be the same everywhere.
