Gossamer Wings

September 11, 2005

It's been awhile since I've visited the Cathedral Bishop's Garden. I stopped by today after hearing Jeffrey Sachs speak on ending poverty. No matter what time of year, there's something buzzing there... whether it be inside the structure or out in the exquisite gardens. The bees were there in full force at 3:30 this afternoon. I risked life and limb to get this shot... my camera was immersed among at least 4 stingers. Brave ~ me so very BRAVE.

Interesting how each bee's wings are a different color as well as the body. The shots are a facinating study in biology. Thanks
