Saturday morning I awoke to the sound of Mrs. Watson (my cat) making tapping noises on the window screen. She just kept sniffing and tapping, and tapping and sniffing. The cicada that had captured all of her curiosity and attention was incredibly tolerant of her poking and prodding... long enough at least for me to take these pictures. I literally had to hold her at bay with one hand while I took the close-up shot. Cicadas must smell really good because she kept squirming around my hand and into the picture.
As you can see from the picture, Mrs. Watson was doing better after being on the liver medicine and antibiotics this month, but she took a turn for the worse yesterday and wasn't doing at all well this morning. The vet agreed to take her today and see her in-between his other patients. It was incredibly difficult to leave her behind at the animal hospital... I know she's suffering.
It's not easy, this letting go of creatures you love... not easy at all.

Nope, not at all...
Big hugs and love your way, Susan.

The hardest thing we ever have to do in life. Each time is just as difficult as the first, but some losses hurt more than others.
