Awwwwwhhhh! So sweet! I'm so thrilled! My friend Jill gave birth to a beautiful boy last week. Her husband, Paul, took this image. The light is perfect, the emotion is rich. I can't help myself... Awwwwwh!
I've been waiting for Joseph's arrival since December when I met Jill and her mother, Nola, through my annual Advent Calendar project. (Nola was a guest artist on my blog a few months ago) Jill is such a sweetie. I have this gut sense she's going to be a really good mom.
A few years ago when I lived in Kansas City, Missouri I attended Unity Temple, (not to be confused with the unitarian church... totally different.) They had a beautiful prayer whenever a couple presented a newborn to the congregation. I wish, wish, wish I could recall it verbatim, but I do remember that they recognized that parents and children are gifts to each another, and every child has a gift to bring into the world.
I have a feeling our world will be a better place now that Joseph is here, and Jill and Paul are taking care of him!

Wow, that's three baby Josephs in as many months. We must need some really great Josephs in the world right now, as the two moms I know personally are amazing women. And good things come in threes, so the cycle is now complete. Please give Jill my best.

I am enthralled by the expresions on the two faces so close together: Joseph, all bright-eyed and full of "I wonder what that is?", and Jill, so soft and full of tender love.
