"Cut off your head. Pegasus, poetry, was born of Medusa when her head was cut off. You have to be reckless when writing. Be crazy as your conscience allows."

Great quote (and where'd you get that image? plaque? platter?) — nice duet of a reminder.

Hey Socks,

The Medusa is a Caravaggio painting. I love that quote too. I am a BIG fan of Joseph Campbell. Have you ever seen the pbs series Power of Myth?

Hi, Susan, it's me again. I didn't realize you did a daily blog (duh). Joseph Campbell is (was) one of my heroes, so was delighted to read this quote from him. The Bill Moyers series was wonderful, and I also have JC's book of the same. Years ago, in San Francisco, I got to go to a day-long seminar given by JC. I wish he were required reading in school!

Do hope you''re feeling a lot better!

Warmly, Nola
