Susan Greenbaum is a singer/songwriter from my old college town in Richmond, Virginia. I've been following her music over the years, and found her new song, "You Are My Holiday" on her website yesterday. She writes the nicest lyrics... very much from the heart, and this particular song weaves both Hanukkah and Christmas together in most delightful way. Here's a little bit of the lyric:
Help me light the candles, I will help you light the tree
We can teach each other all the songs we’ve known since we were three
You are wrapping, you are ribbon and a bow
You are potato pancakes, pumpkin pie and candle glow
You are my holiday
You are my holiday
You are my holiday
The magic spell of jingle bells, the festival of lights
And all the nights I dreamed of you
Such fancy flights--my dreams came true
You are my holiday
You are my holiday

Ahhh, it's the people around you... the hugs, the kisses, the joy, the laughter, and even the holiday bickering that make the season bright.
