We’ve got Wild West sparrows out here… there’s gold in them thar wings!
One of the things I like about this image is the contrasting feelings I get from each bird. The dive bombing bird kind of scares me; the target bird simply cracks me up. Look at her cute little feathered butt! Her legs are dangling, suspended in mid-air as though she has nary a care; completely unaware of the feathery bomb headed her way.
Ahhh… the pain of knowing none of us can know what will happen next! Can we ever feel safe and secure with the knowledge the moment awaiting us – the one just around the corner – may not bring the thing we hoped for? So much uncertainty! Tomorrow, will there be comfort or pain? Abundance or lack? Praise or blame? All we know for certain is the next moment will be different than the last.
In my own experience I’ve found there’s a choice to be made - we can crash into the next moment paralyzed by fear, or choose to tumble into it with an attitude of curiosity. “I don’t know what will happen next? How fun! I think I’ll just see what happens. How amazing this funny little brain of mine… thinking it can predict the future, when it can’t!”
Do you wonder what happened after I clicked the shutter? Had you formed an opinion? Try it out right now… shat do you think will happen next?

I dare not even imagine what will happen next! I try not to have expectations though that is a difficult thing to leave behind. Whatever we imagine is only a story that we make up. If we’re fearful the story reflects that and if we’re confident our story will be about confidence. Our love brings romance to story. It is all an adventure, all there is and we just better accept what comes next!
Looking forward to talking on Tuesday!!
Love, Joan
Correction.. those aren’t sparrows, they’re finches! ~ Susan
Dive bomber didn’t get enough sunflower seeds. She knows his fury is only temporary.
